In July 1984, 40 years ago, Dublin Public Libraries held a series of lectures on "Tracing Your Family Tree" in Raheny and Dean's Grange public libraries, which attracted a lot of interest. Following those lectures a small group met informally every month in Raheny Library led by the late Ray Wickham, to help each other in undertaking research. From this group, Raheny Heritage Society was formed in January 1987 to encourage research in both family and local history.40 years later, Raheny Heritage Society and Raheny Library are delighted to co-host Tara Doyle, Senior Librarian, Dublin City Library and Archive.Title: Dublin City Library and Archive - Introduction to CollectionsTalk: Tara will talk about the various collections held by Dublin City Library and Archive (DCLA), with a particular focus on family and local history collections. All are welcome. The talk is free of charge, but prior booking is essential - please phone Raheny Library at 01-8315521 to reserve a place.
