Clontarf Historical Society - Talk by Liam Clare
Clontarf Historical Society Talk by Liam Clare entitled 'The rise and demise of the Dublin Cattle Market’ at 8.15pm in the Resource Centre, St John the Baptist Church, Clontarf Road. €4 entry fee for non members.
Liam recollects how the herding of cattle down the North Circular Road is the sole surviving memory which many older Dubliners have of the Dublin Cattle Market. But the market was an extremely important Dublin institution, and was once ‘the biggest and best’ cattle market in Europe.
